Header / Footer

Dec 2017

In a multi-site environment the global elements do not transfer across sites. So making an update to the blog header or footer will not update the Action Center. Additionally, while the header/footer was originally a replica of the WordPress site, making an update in WP DOES NOT dynamically change content in Luminate. If there is a change to header/footer, it must be made in both WordPress (any effected multi-site) and Luminate.

MD 12/6/17:

I think I should be the ONE person to update header/footer/global library items in the WP sites. Each time I have a change in one of these on one site, I will propagate to all. When all is done and they are really up to speed on a site management person/plan, we can turn over to them.

In final setup, we’ll have main site, blog, and Luminate to update for header/footer.

We can write a step-by-step in the Guidelines section for what to do/check for in the process. Let’s hold onto this until late in the process so we can focus on dev, but for now just know I’ll make these changes in WP, and we will have to notify Cathexis about header/footer changes.

Jeff 12/5/17:

The simplest way to do this is to coordinate those changes so that once the changes are implemented in WP they are made in LO in short order. It isn’t a complicated process and is mostly just copy/paste but it does require some basic knowledge of HTML and how to use a DOM inspector in a browser, like Firebug in Firefox.
