Take action to defend the law that protects clean water

Today is the 49th anniversary of the Clean Water Act. This law has withstood the test of time and made incredible strides protecting safe and clean water for both people and the environment.

Your voice is needed to ensure the broad clean water protections under the Clean Water Act are sustained.

In just four short years, the Trump administration attempted to destroy the hallmark safeguards for rivers, lakes, wetlands, and other important waterways. Trump’s Dirty Water Rule eliminated federal protections for over 60 percent of waters throughout the United States and over 90 percent of waterways in the desert Southwest.

While thankfully the Dirty Water Rule was vacated by a federal judge in Arizona last month, the effects of prior determinations under the bad rule continue to threaten the water you drink and the landscapes and wildlife you love. Tell President Biden to restore the integrity of our waterways by reviewing and reversing these decisions.

Together with your voice and actions, we have made progress toward repairing the damage done by the Trump administration, but there is more work to be done. Please personalize and send a letter to President Biden telling him why clean water is important to you and asking him to reinstate broad protections we have enjoyed for nearly 50 years.
