Ryan Talbott

Pacific Northwest Conservation Advocate

Ryan Talbott is WildEarth Guardian’s Pacific Northwest Conservation Advocate. Ryan grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania where his appreciation for the Allegheny National Forest started him on a path of forest advocacy. After working for the Allegheny Defense Project to protect the Allegheny from rampant clearcutting and oil and gas drilling, Ryan made his way to Portland, OR where he graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School with a J.D. and Natural Resources Law Certificate. Ryan will focus on protecting and restoring National Forest lands in western Oregon/Washington and northern California. This includes monitoring Forest Service proposals at the project and planning level to ensure that land managers implement measures to remediate decades of mismanagement. He will also be our lead advocate for implementing and growing the Forest Service’s Legacy Roads and Trails program aimed at reducing the Forest Service road system and increasing the number of miles of streams that imperiled fish can access for spawning.
