Rebecca Sobel is a seasoned organizer and environmental advocate with more than two decades of experience championing social and environmental justice. Since joining WildEarth Guardians in 2007 as a conservation organizer, Rebecca has spearheaded major grassroots campaigns across the West, advancing efforts to protect public lands, rivers, and wildlife from the impacts of fossil fuel development.
As WildEarth Guardians’ Organizing Director, Rebecca leads grassroots campaigns to hold polluters accountable and amplify community voices across the American West. A key strategist in the fight against oil and gas expansion, Rebecca continually pushes for bold actions that prioritize people and the planet over profit. Driven by a fierce commitment to environmental and social justice, her leadership is rooted in grassroots power-building and uplifting frontline communities across the American West.
