We are economists, and we are writing to express our concern about federal and state actions that harm the West's natural environment and, as a result, the economic outlook for this region's workers, families, firms, and communities.

In the letter, the economists state that many state and federal actions are causing environmental degradation, increase the risk of future degradation, and slow efforts to reverse past degradation and ultimately harm the economic well-being of many residents of the West.
