WildEarth Guardians’ push for absolute government transparency under the Trump Administration has been in high gear over the last year, with the last month especially intense as we filed records requests with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management every single day.
Underpinning our transparency campaign is the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, which we consider one of the most important lines of defense for our democracy.
That’s what led me recently to sit down and chat with Margaret Kwoka, a renowned Freedom of Information Act expert and University of Denver law professor
Margaret and I discussed about government transparency, the importance of the law and WildEarth Guardians’ advocacy, and what the state of open government looks like under Trump (spoiler alert: it’s not good). Click below and listen for yourself, we had a great conversation.
