Lizzy Pennock, Carnivore Coexistence Attorney, WildEarth Guardians

Lizzy started working with WildEarth Guardians as an intern with the Wildlife Program during her second year of law school in 2019. Post-graduation, she joined Guardians as a Diehl Environmental Law Fellow before transitioning into her current role as the Carnivore Coexistence Advocate based in Missoula, Montana. She grew up in Colorado, where she developed her passion for nature, wildlife, and environmental advocacy. Following her passion for wildlife and the environment, she earned a B.S. in marine science from the University of Hawai`i and a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she focused on environmental law and federal Indian law as it applies to the environment and natural resources. Upon graduating law school, she was awarded a Certificate in Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law, the 2021 Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law Leadership Award, and was elected to the Cornelius honor society by faculty and staff. Prior to joining Guardians, she worked with Crag Law Center and the Center for Biological Diversity, where she focused on salmon protection. In her non-work hours, Lizzy loves to hike and trail run with her dog, travel, bake, and read.
